Must. Get. Sleep. End of ISSCR conference 2008.

It’s that usual back-from-the-conference backlog, with lots of things I want to get done and not enough hours in the day to keep up with my impatience and poor memory.

This just in: blogging synopses of Doug Melton’s and Peter Lansdorp’s talks. And Thomas Rando’s, which I didn’t attend (to my regret now, but I suppose it was during something else I wanted to attend). Now I won’t need to write these summaries, because what I was impressed by, others were, too. Thanks!

I managed to feed my not-quite-dead-yet cells and make up some more of their overly complex medium.

There were lots of stands at the conference to sell me alternative brews. But if my cells die I will have to start over with the old potion, and the summer vacation is coming up. All I want is to grow up enough of them to freeze them down during July, but it’s not looking good. Then I’ll have to get someone else to feed them, and it’s slightly more complex than for the goldfish.

I promised to write more about the last day of the conference, during which I attended a heap of excellent talks. Four to blow you out of the water and a good one in the middle, but not the fruit-of-a-long-illustrious-career kind of talk. (I skipped the last poster session to catch my plane.) But I’m finally tired, so will catch this train to bed.

The next couple of days, I will be off site from work to possibly learn more about a technique that I suspect I don’t exploit as much as I could.

Meanwhile, here’s a plug to Defend Science.
